For Matthew Santiago, Sport of Iron is a dream come true!
Matthew is the founder and owner of Ataraxis Health and Fitness. An experienced certified personal trainer, he has worked with more than 200 individual clients throughout the Hudson Valley.
Matthew is also a world-class speed bag master. He was featured in the film the Art of the Bag, A Speed Bag Story and in a nationally syndicated commercial.
Matthew admires Tom and Laura for the strong family they have built. Matthew is excited for the opportunity to live his dream by owning a gym. He is thrilled that the gym is Sport of Iron, and is grateful to employees and members.
Matthew shares the same passion and vision for Sport of Iron, and looks forward to the future!
Tom and Laura Farrell, Founders
Tom and Laura Farrell, a state trooper and teacher respectively, often dreamed of a gym where strength athletes could work out in a positive, motivating atmosphere.
They searched local gyms and just couldn’t find what their hearts were set on. So, in 2017, they decided to dream big and open up Sport of Iron Fitness! Sport of Iron began as a strength-only facility, but has morphed into a place where beginner and seasoned athletes thrive and grow!
Sport of Iron is a place for people of all fitness levels to find friendship, support, and encouragement.
Tom and Laura live right here in Kingston with their three children Ryan, Quinn, and Piper, and their dog, Rosie.
They will remain happily active here at Sport of Iron!
